It was indeed a god-like creature (son of Loki and a giant), but it was Fenrir who killed Odin and not the other way around (Odin's son Vidar killed Fenrir after that).
Fenrir was together with the Midgard-snake one of the two monsters to haunt the earth during Ragnarök, the end of the world, and until then it was bound with the indestructible chain Gleipnir.

You definitely should get your hands on Fruits Basket. I think the manga is better than anime but to each its own. ^_^ Also, Chocola 2002 is a collection of Digi Charat artwork for that year. Plus, it has other piccies from other series. But it's not worth buying. The earlier ones are much better. 'kay~ I'll stop before I bore you.
